A racing pigeon was sold for $1.9 Million last Sunday. The price is a mind-boggling one. New Kim is the popular Belgian-bred pigeon who sold for a hefty price tag to a Chinese bidder. The Chinese bidder has a pseudonym, Super Duper. This is a world record so far. Pascal Bodengien, the head of the Belgian Federation told the Press, that his pigeons are very popular amongst bird races and enthusiasts.
Breeding Racing Pigeons
The previous record of $1.4 Million was for a racing bird named Armando. According to reports, Armando is with the same bidder. Armando is popular as the best long-distance racing pigeon. He plans to breed the super-duper pair. The Breeder Gaston Van de Wouwer had put all his 445 birds up for auction after he chose retirement at 76 years. He has already earned around $7 Million by Monday. New Kim has fetched the biggest amount so far.
