The latest appointment announced from the Pentagon is about Kash Patel, the Indo-American. There is a bit of surprise popping up each day from Washington. Indo-American Kash Patel has been named Chief Of Staff to the Acting US Defence Secretary Chris Miller.
The world already knows how Donald Trump fired Defence Secretary Mark Esper and appointed Chris Miller. Chris Miller, the National Counter-Terrorism Center Director, is now the Acting Secretary Of Defence.
Kash Patel Takes On New Responsibilities
Miller takes on the new responsibilities in a swift manner. Kash Patel is currently one of the National Security Council Staff. On Tuesday, Miller announced him as his Chief Of Staff. Kash Patel replaces Jen Stewart.
The latest appointment at the Pentagon completed his schooling in New York, and college in Richmond, Virginia. He completed his law from New York. Patel also worked as the state public defender and as a federal public defender for four years, each.
Later, he moved from Florida to Washington, DC. He resumed work as the terrorism prosecutor in the Department of Justice. He has worked on cases, from all over the world. He has fought cases in America, East Africa, Uganda, and Kenya.
While being employed at the Department Of Justice, Kash Patel joined the Special Operations Command. He has a vivid resume, to flaunt. While at the Pentagon, he also occupied a predominant position as the Department Of Justice’s lawyer.
He worked closely with various associations around the world. Patel has also served as an aide to Rep. Devin Nunes. Moreover, he was involved in a negative reaction against Donald Trump – Russia investigation. Further, he was involved in the 2018 bias memo, involving Trump.
The Lineage Of The Gujarati Blood And Indo-Americans
Kash Patel, originally known as Kashyap Pramod Patel, served as the senior counsel for Counterterrorism. In the year 2019, Kash Patel was appointed as senior director of Counterterrorism. Kash Patel has a lineage that traces back to Gujarat.
However, he was born in New York. His parents are from East Africa. Kash Patel’s mother is from Tanzania and father from Uganda. His parents got married and migrated to the US in 1970. They had settled at Queens’ in New York, also popular as ‘Little India.’ The 39-year old looks all set to take up the responsibilities at the Pentagon.
In the meanwhile, Joe Biden the new President-elect who takes office from January 2021 has already named 20 Indo-Americans as members in his ARTS team. They will be responsible for reviewing the operations of the key federal agencies. He is eager to let a smooth transition happen. Three Indo-Americans have been named as team leaders in various ARTS.
You will be surprised to know the other names. Arun Majumdar from Stanford, occupies the position as the team lead in the Department of Energy, apart from Rahul Gupta. Rahul Gupta will serve as the team lead for Office of National Drug Control Policy.
Thus, Indian ethnic workforce seems to be one of the changes brought upon the US, by Joe Biden.
